比較級在雅思閱讀里面考察很多，題型涉及matching sentence endings，True/False/Not given，Yes/No/Not given，matching features.

　　比較級是一種特殊的語法結構，擁有than這個標志性的特征，除此之外，還有比較的結果——more+adj或者adj-er，以及比較的雙方，通常是對比的名詞，比如high-pitched noise 和low-pitched noise。

　　題目中出現的比較級并不一定意味著原文也是一定以比較級形式重現，也有其他的情況。環(huán)球教育邵飛鴻老師分析如下：

　　1.比較級 特殊語法結構重現，比較雙方被同義替換或者原詞重現

　　In experiments，rats who ate what they wanted led shorter lives than rats on a low-caloric diet.

　　They found that rats fed a low-caloric diet lived longer on average than free-feeding rats

　　TEXT：A is more than B.

　　Question：

　　B is more than A.

　　A is less than B.

　　B is less than A.

　　2.比較級=V.動詞（上升和下降）

　　Those who felt in control in their lives pumped out lower levels of stress hormones.

　　Feelings of control over life can reduce stress in difficult situation.

　　People who felt emotionally isolated maintained higher levels of stress hormones

　　Feelings of loneliness may cause rises in levels of stress hormones

　　Higher/ larger/ greater/ more= increase/ rise/ soar

　　Lower/ smaller/ less= decrease/ decline/ drop/ fall/ reduce

　　3.比較級=N.名詞（改變，不同）

　　Passage：Children (who were moved to less noisy classrooms) still showed greater distractibility one year later than students who had...

　　Question：Long-term exposure to noise can produce changes in behavior which can still be observed a year later.

　　Question：Students in a suggestopedia class retain more new vocabulary than those in ordinary classes.

　　Passage：Another difference from conventional teaching is the evidence that...

　　比較級= change/ difference etc.

　　4.比較級=否定

　　Computers are better than humans at detecting faults in glass.

　　Inspection technology allows more than...， locating flaws the unaided eye would be unable to see.

　　5.比較級=其他比較詞組

　　The concept of sufficiency was more important than the concept of quantity.

　　Their considerations would have been more of the kind Is this enough？ rather than How many？
